Grêmio is once again charged for a million-dollar default: “Use PIX”
Cascavel once again demanded that Grêmio pay the amounts relating to the sale of midfielder Bitello to Dynamo Moscow, in Russia.
The transaction took place in September 2023. The Russians paid 10 million euros, around R$52 million at the exchange rate at the time, for the then Tricolor Gaúcho standout. Cascavel, Bitello's training club, held 30% of the economic rights.
“Grêmio has not yet made the payment due to Serpente. It is worth remembering that Tricolor Gaúcho has already received the full amount from the sale of the athlete Bitello to Dynamo Moscow”, says an excerpt from the note published by Serpente this Wednesday (28).
“This resource is essential to guarantee the financial health of our club. We are awaiting a response from Grêmio. In fact, our secretary’s telephone number is available on the website,” the text reinforced.
“Just call… or, who knows, open the bank app and do the PIX!”, Cascavel teased.

The club from the interior also recalled FIFA's recent punishment of Lyon, a club that belongs to businessman John Textor, the same owner of Botafogo.
The French team was banned from registering new players due to a R$12 million debt related to a transfer.
“The sanction may be reversed once the debt is paid off or if FIFA revokes the punishment after the necessary procedures are completed. We are still waiting. Grêmio has not yet made the payment due to Serpente,” the statement concluded.
According to Cascavel, to receive the first installment of R$10 million to which it was entitled, the club had to take Grêmio to the National Dispute Resolution Chamber (CNRD), of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
According to Serpente, Grêmio still owes R$4 million, in addition to interest and fines. “Tricolor Gaúcho does not deny the debt, but will not pay the amount owed to Cascavel,” continues the official statement from the Paraná team.

Also in December of last year, in response to Cascavel, Grêmio stated that it is awaiting the CNRD's decision to make the remaining payment due to Cascavel for the sale of Bitello to Russian football.
In response to the Porto Alegre newspaper, Zero Hora , the team from Rio Grande do Sul stated that it “tried, several times, to negotiate more favorable payment conditions. Cascavel refused and joined the CBF’s CNRD”.
“In this case, the only alternative is to wait for the decision to deal with the payment”, the club added.

This is not the first time that Grêmio has been accused by a Paraná club of not paying what it owes. In January 2023, Foz do Iguaçu also contacted the CBF to collect amounts from the sale of striker Pepê to Porto, from Portugal.
Discovered by Foz, Pepê was traded by Tricolor Gaúcho in 2021, for 15 million euros, around R$98 million, at the exchange rate at the time.
Foz had 30% of Pepê's economic rights. However, without receiving the full amount to which it would have been entitled in the transaction for European football, the Paraná club also had to contact the CNRD.
